Halethorpe Man Gets Prison for Child Pornography

A 27-year-old Halethorpe man will spend the next seven years in prison after being convicted of possession and distribution of child pornography.

Alan Clifton the Halethorpe also was ordered to serve 30 years of supervised probation. He must register as a sex offender where he resides, where he works and where he is a student, according to a news release by the U.S. Attorney's Office.

During the June 2012 trial in U.S. District Court in Baltimore, evidence showed that "Clifton used a file-sharing program to share images of child pornography,” according to the news release.

Later, the Baltimore County Police Department took two computers and other digital media from his home, and found "3,700 files of child pornography, including the three videos that had been downloaded by the undercover detective."
