Maryland State Department of Corrections Officer Arrested

Baltimore County police say William Hawkins, 26, is charged with assault and handgun violations after he allegedly pulled a gun when another man asked him to pay for an alleged sexual act.

An employee of the Maryland Department of Corrections was arrested Saturday on charges of assault and handgun violations. William Hawkins, 26, allegedly pointed a gun at another man who was asking him to pay for an alleged sexual act already performed, according to a news release by Baltimore County police. At 7:30 p.m. April Saturday, a 19-year-old man came up to a Woodlawn precinct officer along Security Boulevard in Woodlawn. He "reported an assault," and "told the officer that he met a man online and agreed to meet to perform a sexual act on the man in exchange for money," a report by Baltimore County police states. UPDATE: Help Police Find Douglas France

Douglas France, 81, who was missing from St. Agnes Lane in Gwynn Oak, has been found, Baltimore County police said Tuesday night.

UPDATE (10:34 p.m.) Douglas France, 81, walked away from his home at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning wearing a light green, baseball-style cap with a veteran's insignia and a pin, a brown plaid windbreaker jacket, tan shirt and dress pants. And he went missing most of the day, a news release from Baltimore County police states. However, by nighttime, he had been found. "Good news: Mr. Douglas France has returned home, alive and well," according to a tweet at 10:15 p.m. by Baltimore County, @BACOPoliceFire. Missing Milford Mill Teen Found Safe

15-year-old Cheyenne Abbott was reported missing Dec. 17 from Milford Mill.

A missing teenage girl has been found alive and well, police said. Cheyenne Abbott, a 15-year-old girl reported missing from Milford Mill this month, "has been located alive and well," according to a news release Thursday from the Baltimore County Police Department. The Milford Mill resident had been missing since Dec. 17, when she was last seen at Milford Mill Road and Liberty Road, near the Giant Foods store. She had been reported missing before, from Glen Burnie, according to a Glen Burnie Patch report.

Pair Who Allegedly Stole Identities Plead Guilty

Man and his girlfriend, both of Woodlawn, plead guilty to conspiring to commit fraud and aggravated identity theft against hundreds of people in 2009.

Two Woodlawn residents have pleaded guilty to passing counterfeit checks written from the accounts of more than 250 people, including doctors who applied for fellowships at Johns Hopkins Hospital. It was 2009 when Derrick Hill, 52, and his girlfriend Renee Cabell, 51, "conspired with their co-defendants John Coffey and Tawney King to negotiate counterfeit checks drawn on victim bank accounts," according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland. Coffey and King pleaded guilty earlier to the same charges. "The defendants obtained cash, merchandise and services worth over $188,000. Suspects Identified in Weekend Woodlawn Shooting

Victim found shot in his vehicle Sunday is in good condition, police say.

A man found suffering from a gunshot wound inside a vehicle Sunday morning in Woodlawn is in good condition, and three suspects arrested have been identified. "Detectives do not believe the shooting was a random act, and the incident remains under investigation," said a statement from the Baltimore County Police Department. Arrested and charged with first-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault were: They are being held without bail at the county detention center, according to police. UPDATE: Silver Alert for Woodlawn Man Cancelled

Police located a Woodlawn man who was reported missing Saturday evening.

Police have located a 78-year-old Woodlawn man that was reported missing Saturday. Pernell Batts, of the 3000 block of St. James Road, left his house around 9 a.m. Saturday to go to Heathsville, Virginia. Police out out a silver alert at 7:23 p.m., which was cancelled at 11:37 p.m. when Batts was found safe.
