The UMBC men's basketball team kept coming close but couldn't stop their recent losing streak. On Wednesday night, they finally did it. Ryan Cook scored a game-high 21 points to help UMBC pull away in the second half en route to a 68-57 victory over New Hampshire in an America East game at RAC Arena. UMBC improved to 3-13 (1-2 in the conference) with the win. The Retrievers had been close throughout the skid, with four of their losses by less than 10 points. In fact, six of the team's 13 losses this year have been by fewer than 10 points. Cook played a big role in this win. He came up with three crucial put-backs in the second half as UMBC took control.
