UMBC's Caringi Wins ECAC Honor
Caringi gets another award, as does Liam Paddock
UMBC's Pete Caringi III (Perry Hall/Calvert Hall) earned the 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division I Offensive Player of the Year honors for soccer, the conference announced Thursday. The honors were from UMBC and ECAC, according to a news release. Caringi is the second UMBC player to win this award in the past four years. Levi Houapeu also won this honor three years ago, it states. This season, Caringi was named Striker of the Year in the America East. His 14 goals and 32 points led the conference, and Caringi stands 13th in both total goals and points, according to the release.
