The Band Perry's agent is working on "a plan" for fans.
UPDATE (1:30 p.m.)—The Band Perry's headlining concert at the Maryland State Fair was rained out Saturday night. The Baltimore Sun reports concertgoers headed for cover shortly before the scheduled 7:30 p.m. show. The Band Perry played seven songs before lightning was spotted in the area, according to a fairgrounds spokeswoman. The band went offstage, and the show was canceled 15 minutes later, the Sun reports. The area was under a thunderstorm warning until 7:45 p.m. Fairgrounds president and general manager Howard "Max" Mosner released the following statement: The Band Perry made every attempt to get the show in. There was a delay waiting until the first storm passed. The band came back and played for approximately 35 minutes while …

From parking to new events and everything in between, Patch explains what you can expect from the state fair this Labor Day weekend.
Maryland State Fairgrounds president and general manager Howard “Max” Mosner remembers the irate — although he calls them “funny” — phone calls he received during the 2011 state fair. “How dare you run that fair and use up our electricity,” he said, reciting the common theme of calls relating the massive outages caused by Hurricane Irene. Of course, the state fair’s power use did not impact the surrounding the community. Are you going?
First there was Bieber. Then there was Gomez. But tonight, Timonium gets... Justice. Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice is the third act for a third straight year the Maryland State Fair has landed, appealing to a younger "teenybopper" crowd. Wow, I feel old for putting "teenybopper" in quotes. These acts have been wildly popular in the past with Justin Bieber's concert two years ago selling out in—literally—minutes and Selena Gomez attracting over 10,000 to Timonium. Justice will be performing on stage alongside Max Schnieder at 7:30 p.m. in the infield of the fairgrounds racetrack. Tickets are still available for tonight's concert. For Timonium residents and out-of-town fairgoers, the star power that comes with someone like Justice …

Last year where I live there was a storm threat with sky conditions similar to the ones in these pictures, and some people paid no attention. The ones who listened to the warnings took cover and watched from their basements as their houses were lifted into the sky...but they survived. Six people who delayed and got caught in the storms and the Cat 4 and 5 tornadoes that passed by died instantly. …   more ›
