Juvenile Reports Sex Offense by Adult

The following information is from the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases were charges are noted, it does not indicate a conviction.

Underage sexual relations were reported Friday to Baltimore County police. Between 6:40 a.m. Wednesday through 8 p.m. Friday, sexual relations occurred between "classmates," one a juvenile, and one an adult, according to a report by the Baltimore County Police Department's Wilkens precinct. The incident, a fourth-degree sex offense, allegedly occurred in the 3600 block of Virginia Ave., the report states. That's in the Lansdowne-Baltimore Highlands area. The adult has not yet been charged, so the adult's name is not being released, police said Monday.

Brush Fire Breaks Out in Southwest Baltimore County

The fire spread across several acres in the Lansdowne-Baltimore Highlands area Friday evening.

Before 6 p.m. Friday, a brush fire overtook several acres of land in southwest Baltimore. Firefighters were dispatched to the 3900 block of Park Drive in Halethorpe at 5:26 p.m., according to a statement from Baltimore County Fire-Rescue Academy. At the time, a brush fire was consuming 4 to 5 acres and spreading toward an industrial area filled with trailers and equipment, the statement said. To contain the blaze, approximately 120 firefighters were called in from Baltimore City and Baltimore, Anne Arundel and Howard counties, according to the report. The blaze was under control by 6:48 p.m. and did not reach the industrial area. No injuries were reported, according to the statement.

Baltimore Highlands Woman Killed in I-695 Hit and Run

Judith A. Hill was struck near Edmondson Avenue, according to Maryland State Police.

Police said a Baltimore Highlands woman was killed in a crash that shut down Interstate 695 at Edmondson Avenue Thursday morning. Judith A. Hill, 62, of the 2800 block of Manoff Road in Halethorpe, was driving a Chevy pickup truck when she stopped on the right shoulder of the interstate "for reasons unclear," got out of her vehicle and was struck, according to Maryland State Police. The vehicle that hit her left the scene, police said. Troopers responded after a passerby reported a body lying on the median in the center of the beltway at approximately 7:30 a.m., police said. Emergency medical personnel from Baltimore County arrived and pronounced Hill dead, police said. Her body has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, …

Juvenile Knifepoint Robbery Suspect Charged

One of two teenagers involved in July 5 Baltimore Highlands robbery caught, police said.

Police have arrested a juvenile female and charged her with the July 5 armed robbery of a teenage couple in Baltimore Highlands, according to officials. At around 11:45 p.m., a 17-year old male who lives in Baltimore Highlands and a 14-year-old female from Catonsville were walking at Delaware and Washington Avenues when they were approached from behind by another teen male and female couple, police said. The male suspect grabbed the male victim from behind in a choke hold and displayed a knife, according to police. The suspects took the male victim's hat and shoes because he had no money, police said. The female victim gave up her cell phone, according to police. Police: Man Stabbed in Lansdowne

The incident happened March 11 on the 3900-block of Hollins Ferry Road, police said.

A 32-year-old Baltimore Highlands man was stabbed during an early morning March 11 altercation outside a Hollins Ferry Road lounge, according to police. At around 2 a.m., the victim got involved in a verbal argument with a suspect on the 3900-block of Hollins Ferry Road. The suspect, described as a Hispanic man about 20-30 years old, about 5' 9" and 150 pounds with spiky hair, wearing a gray t-shirt and dress pants, stabbed the victim once in the right side and then ran down Hollins Ferry Road toward Daisy Avenue, police said. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Probation and Parole Discussed at WPCRO Meeting

Brian Bailey resigned his position as WPCRO treasurer because he is moving to Arizona. WPCRO president Lorna Rudnikas reported that the board voted for at-large member Sandra Cullen to serve the remainder of Bailey's term. Precinct 1/Wilkens commander Capt. John Spiroff reported on the results of an in Riverview and Baltimore Highlands. "Our first statistics look very good" according to preliminary data, Spiroff said. Capt. Spiroff also discussed a police detail around the that has become a crime issue. The police are working with councilman Tom Quirk's office to have county crews remove debris and overgrown foliage around the bridge that contributes to the crime problem, he said. Body Found in Southwest Area Park

Autopsy pending on decomposed remains to determine identity and cause of death.

A badly decomposed body was found Feb. 1 in a remote section of Southwest Area Park in Baltimore Highlands, according to police officials. Police were notified about the body around 1:10 p.m. by people walking through the park, located on the 3900-block of Park Drive. There were no obvious signs of foul play, according to police spokesperson Det. Cathleen Batton. Due to the state of decomposition, police officials were unable to provide any information about the sex or general description of the body. The body was transported to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy for positive identification and determination of the cause of death, Batton said.
