A dozen volunteers rallied by Friends of Patapsco Valley and Heritage Greenway spent several hours on Oct. 1 removing trash and debris from a stretch of Herbert Run through Arbutus.
Attending to a section of Herbert Run near Southwestern Boulevard behind the parking lot, the group collected about 440 pounds of frash, including a beach umbrella, fluorescent light bulbs, baby diapers, a fire extinguisher, underwear and rainbow socks, many beer and liquor bottles, and numerous plastic bags hanging in trees and tangled in foliage.
Members of the Arbutus Improvement Association participated as well.

I don't think its fair to say he wasn't interested! I mean there is an article done by The "ARBUTUS" Patch just back in Dec. of Riverview Clean Up! I also read about Riverview clean up & viewed photographs just a few weeks ago about that 9/10 clean up. Honestly when I read that article I figured the only reason why the Arbutus Patch didn't write something on it was because another news source had already. Maybe having two different news reporters writing about the same community clean up may have been a slight over kill. Plus Riverview also received support from the Councilmen's Office where neither Arbutus Improvement Association or Patapsco Valley Heritage Greenway received such support. As a matter of fact neither organization received dumpsters, bags, gloves, or a County Truck to help haul away all the trash. Its a lot of area & different communities for one man and we all want his attention! ;) Ron ~ I wasn't aware of your community clean up until I read about it from a posting the Councilmen shared. Please let other Associations in the area know when you do your clean ups.... I know the A.I.A. will always try to lend a helping hand! Nikki Marlatt-Young / President Arbutus Improvement Association
