Whiz Kid: Dragan Hornatko

Each week, Arbutus Patch will feature a teen or child who has been nominated by a member of the community for doing something outstanding. Meet this week's Whiz Kid.

Name: Dragan Hornatko

School: Arbutus Elementary

Accomplishment: An honor roll student enrolled in the Gifted and Talented classes at Arbutus Elelemtary School, Dragan also a determined baskeball player. Last season he scored 4 points in 10 games. He began practicing every day, sometimes just dribbling the ball up and down the street, and attended basketball camp at UMBC for two weeks last summer. This year, Dragan is one of the team's star players, averaging 10 points per game. He scored 86 points in nine games. Dragan hits 3-point shots, scores free throws, dribbles and passes with the best of them. Also involved in the Arbutus Boys Basketball League, Dragan's success is due to his determination and hard work.
