Lansdowne High Rec Center's Lights To Be Upgraded

Money from Program Open Space will improve lighting at the school's rec center.

The lighting at Lansdowne High School's Rec Center is going to be upgraded, according to recent press release from the state.

Program Open Space is going to provide $323,625 if unding to upgrade the field lighting system in place now at Lansdowne High's Recreation Center. This will ensure safety standards are being met. 

The state said also that the new lighting is going to be "energy efficient and decrease light pollution."

Gov. Martin O'Malley and the Board of Public Works approved the projects earlier this week, according to the press release. 

“Through these projects we are not only enhancing our parks and recreational facilities, we are enhancing the quality of life for our State’s citizens,” said O’Malley.

In addition, Carroll County will get nearly $1.3 million to develop a planned recreation area at Krimgold Park. Somerset County is going to receive $77.400 for programs at a complex there.
