Path of Proposed Bike Route Revealed
Commuter route for bicycles will connect UMBC and the MARC Halethorpe Station.
Baltimore County plans to establish a bike route between the UMBC campus and the MARC Halethorpe Station.
The route leads south from the campus on Poplar Avenue to East Drive. Because Poplar Avenue is one-way, the return trip back to the UMBC campus takes a left turn on Sulphur Spring and follows Birch Avenue around to Locust Avenue.
According to county officials, the bike path will be designated with signage but no dedicated lanes.
