WPCRO Celebrates Police Appreciation Night

Police community relations group resumes monthly meetings with a cookout and cake.

The Wilkens Police Community Relations Organization resumed monthly meetings after the summer recess Sept. 13 with a Police Appreciation Night cookout at Precinct 1/Wilkens.

Several dozen residents shared grilled food, snowballs and assorted goodies with officers and elected officials. Among those who spoke were Councilman Tom Quirk and police chief James Johnson.

A flyer was also distributed for an Oct. 2 benefit for Sgt. John Schneider.
