Update: Injuries Reported in Walmart Fight in Lansdowne Involving Bleach

Officials say household chemicals were used in an assault.

Update 6 p.m.

The suspect from the fight at the Walmart followed the victim into the store. The suspect assaulted the victim and poured bleach and Pine-Sol on the victim according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

After the assault, the suspect left the store and went to the Baltimore County Police Wilkens Precinct. The suspect was placed under arrest at the precinct.

Suspect information will be released after the bail hearing is completed.

An employee of WalMart was also injured during the assault, police said. The extent of injuries to the victim and the Walmart employee are unknown.

Two women involved in a fight Saturday morning at the Walmart at 3601 Washington Blvd. in Lansdowne began throwing bleach at each other, injuring at least three people and forcing an evacuation, fire and police officials said.

One person faced arrest and charges were pending, police said. No names were released.

“Officers determined that two women were involved in a physical confrontation while inside the store,” spokesman John Wachter of the Baltimore County Police Department said in a statement.

He said the women threw bleach and another chemical at one another and the mixture of chemicals resulted in several customers being treated for possible injuries. One person was transported to the Wilmer Eye Institute and two were transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

The Walmart store at 3601 Washington Blvd. in Lansdowne was being evacuated Saturday in an incident involving reports of people throwing bleach and ammonia, Baltimore County fire officials said. At least one person was injured.

Fire deparment spokesperson Glenn Blackwell said hazardous materials units and 10 medic units were sent to the scene.

At least one person was transported to Wilmer Eye Clinic.

"There are initial reports of people throwing bleach and a mixture of bleach and ammonia," Blackwell said in a statement.

The store was being evacuated, he said.
