UPDATE: Two Arrested In Connection With Catonsville Rape

Charges are expected to be filed against two Baltimore City men arrested after police say they abducted a woman at Edmondson and Ingleside avenues and sexually assaulting her.

5:51 p.m. update: Police said that the men arrested in connection with an Oct. 1 abduction and rape may be responsible for other similar crimes—including a Sept. 25 incident at the same intersection of Edmondson and Ingleside avenues.

According to police, at around 12:40 p.m. on Monday, a 17-year-old girl exited a bus at Edmondson and Ingleside and was walking to another bus stop when a Ford SUV pulled up beside her.

The driver got out of the car and forced the victim into the vehicle, police said in a release.

A second suspect was in the back seat of the vehicle, armed with a handgun, according to police.

The suspects drove the victim to an alley in Baltimore City, where the suspect in the back seat sexually assaulted her, police said in the release.

The suspects took the victim's cell phone, wallet, money and identification card, and dropped the victim off at a nearby apartment complex, according to police.

During the investigation, detectives learned that the vehicle matched the description of a vehicle linked to a kidnapping in Baltimore City that occurred late on Oct. 1, according to police.

The suspect who forced the victim into the vehicle during the Oct. 1 incident is linked to a separate kidnapping and assault that occurred in Catonsville on Sept. 25, police said in the release.

At 10 p.m. on Sept. 25, an 18-year-old woman reported an abduction and robbery to officers at the Precinct 1/Wilkens station, according to officials.

According to police, at around 9:20 a.m., the victim exited a bus at the intersection of Edmondson and Ingleside and started to walk to work.

A Ford SUV pulled up beside her, and the driver pointed a handgun at her and ordered her to get in the vehicle, according to police.

The suspect drove the victim to a nearby apartment complex and forced her to perform a sexual act, the police release said.

The suspect took the victim's money, camera and identification card, according to police. The victim then exited the vehicle, and the suspect drove away.

According to police, the victim waited to report the crime because the suspect threatened to harm her if she filed a police report.

The victim did not tell officers about the sexual assault during the initial report, but provided that information during the follow-up investigation by detectives, police said in the release.

After an extensive search by city and county officers, detectives located and arrested the two suspects at around 11:20 p.m. Monday night in the Northwest area of Baltimore City.

The incidents are still under investigation, and charges are pending gainst the suspects, according to police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathleen Batton.

Police have not yet released the names of the suspects involved in the crimes.

"Animals always take their prey back into familiar territory." Right...because there's NO vicious crime in Catonsville executed by those who actually live here...it's a slice of Utopia right in your own backyard, and nothing bad ever happens unless it's by 'those animals' from elsewhere... ...looks like someone really took the 'Life Is Great In 21228' bumper sticker to heart...

You make so many ludicrous assumptions from so few words. You can make anything up you please but to read all that into those few words is asinine. I will repeat, animals take their prey back to familiar territory if at all possible. Only stating the nature of animals which we are a part of. Not too far removed from the great apes if you believe the science. Some just seem not as far removed. Since you think it is acceptable to kidnap and rape since you are going after me and not the rapist animals, I can understand your anger at my comment.

The only ludicrous assumption is the one that you have made regarding my 'making anything up'; I restated what you said and commented accordingly. Asinine would more appropriately describe your feeble minded assumption that if one does not classify someone as an 'animal' (as you did), then they condone the horrible acts described in the article. Also, I am not 'going after' you, if I were, I would have mentioned your lame attempt at rationalizing an ignorant comment by hiding behind Darwinism. I also did not introduce the fact that the racial undertones implied by your comment could lead one to believe that you 'feel a certain way' about a group of people based on more than just the commission of this horrible crime...or did you call the Perry Hall, Aurora, Minnesota, and Oak Creek shooters 'animals' as well? Also, if you're going to repeat yourself, make sure that you actually repeat yourself. You added the qualifier of 'if at all possible' after saying 'I will repeat...', which you did not state in the original comment. Since you think that it is acceptable make smarmy comments with the expectation of no response about them, I can understand your anger at my comment...

CMH, thank you for proving beyond a shadow of doubt that the old saying about what one is who makes so many ASSumptions. Your defense of kidnapping rapists as human tells me much more than I care to know about just who you are and where your civility lies.

This report is quite upsetting as I have daughters who walk in Catonsville and walk to school. We all need to keep our eyes open and report things to the police immediately
