Two Men Charged in Baltimore Highlands Slaying

Vincent Isiah Thomas, 20, was found shot multiple times in a field adjacent to Baltimore Highlands Elementary School.

Baltimore County Police have charged two men in the killing of Vincent Isiah Thomas, 20, whose body was discovered in a field next to Baltimore Highlands Elementary School on an early Saturday morning.

Keith Burgess, 23, of the 3700 block of McDowell Lane in Baltimore Highlands was arrested March 18 and Damonya Cook, 20, of the 7800 block of Tall Pines Court in Glen Burnie was arrested March 22.

Shortly after 6 a.m. on Feb. 19, a resident out walking discovered Thomas unresponsive in the middle of a field near the intersection of Illinois Avenue and Annapolis Road.

Police determined that Thomas had multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.

Police say Thomas had a physical confrontation with Cook days earlier. Burgess was also present at that fight, according to police.

Burgess and Cook are both charged with first degree murder and are being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
