Two Charged in Halethorpe Burglary

The Elkridge suspects were allegedly seen taking metal from a residence on Arbutus Avenue and were arrested at the recycling center.

Two Elkridge residents were arrested and charged with burglary on Aug. 6 after taking metal items from a residence in Halethorpe, according to Baltimore County police.

At around 3 p.m., two people were seen by a resident removing metal items from her yard on the 1800 block of Arbutus Ave., including two folding beds, four aluminum lawn chairs, a weed trimmer and a tire with an aluminum rim, police said.

The homeowner saw the suspects load the material into a pickup truck and called police, according to officials.

Police located the suspects and their truck near Maryland Recycling on Furnace Avenue in Elkridge.

Chris Aaron Bethrum, 23, of the 8400 block of Grove Rd., and Karen Frances Thiele, 52, of the 6600 block of Perchwood Dr., were each charged with burglary and theft of under $1,000.
