Three Sex Offenses Reported in Precinct 1

Three sex-related crimes were reported Monday in Baltimore County's Precinct 1, which covers the southwest section of the county, but police did not respond to repeated attempts to obtain details of the incidents.

Officer Rachel Aiosa at Precinct 1/Wilkins released a handwritten note to Arbutus Patch Monday with three incidents listed as:

• Fourth-degree sex offense
• First-degree rape
• Possible second-degree rape

Next to each hand-written charge was a “CC number,” which is a unique tracking number for incident reports. Reports routinely include the date, location and time of the incident, as well as basic details about what occurred, but those reports were not released by police.

Baltimore County police reports are not available online or from any other source.

Aiosa referred media inquires to Lt. Robert McCullough at police headquarters in Towson. McCullough, director of media relations for the department, did not return phone calls and e-mails Monday seeking details.

According to Maryland law, police blotters, which most often are a daily record of events at a police station, as well as arrest reports, are among police records that are open to the public’s inspection, according to the Reporters Committee for the Freedom of the Press.

Both first and second-degree rape are felonies in Maryland.
