Service Resumes Following Lansdowne Train Derailment
Repairs and cleanup continue following the Friday derailment of a CSX train on the tracks near Hammonds Ferry Road and Elizabeth Avenue.
Trains have resumed running in Lansdowne following the derailment of a CSX train carrying garbage from upstate New York to Richmond, VA, on Friday evening, CSX spokesman Gary Sease said.
At 7:58 p.m., the train hauling garbage derailed on CSX Railway, 4724 Hammonds Ferry Road, Lansdowne, causing damage to only CSX property, according to a report by the Baltimore County Police Department's Wilkens Precinct.
“The tracks have been mostly repaired … but we still have people on site doing cleanup,” Sease said.

CSX police responded and relieved Baltimore County police, the report states.
"The accident came as the National Transportation Safety Board was expecting to complete its on-scene work investigating a high-profile derailment in Rosedale. In that May 28 incident, a truck driver hit a CSX train at a crossing," a Sun report said.
CSX crew will continue repairs and cleanups, Sease said.
