Police Warn of Burglary Suspect

Suspect targeting elderly in Edmondson Avenue corridor.

Baltimore County police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a person suspected of committing several burglaries in the area.

According to Lt. John Rossbach of Precinct 1/Wilkens, police are looking for a black male, 35-43 years old, 6' 4-6" tall, with balding hair. Rossback said that the suspect is well-dressed, and in some instances wore dress shoes and a tie.

Police believe that this man has committed several burglaries along Edmondson Avenue, from North Rolling to Academy Road.

Last week, Rossbach said the man was spotted on Wilkens Avenue, Maiden Choice Lane and Vernon Avenue.

According to police, the suspect is targeting older neighborhoods and homes with elderly residents.

"He prefers when the elderly victims are outside, maybe working on their lawns, then will enter their homes through unlocked doors," Rossbach said. "He has only been taking wallets up to this point."

Police recommend anyone who sees a person fitting the description of the suspect to call 9-1-1 or Precinct 1/Wilkens at 410-887-0872.
