Police Seeking Man Involved in Attempted Murder

Alex Gerard Smith, wanted for violating probation for 2008 attempted murder, may have returned to his Lansdowne neighborhood.

County police are searching for a former Lansdowne resident wanted for violating his probation for a 2008 attempted murder.

Alex Gerard Smith, 29, whose last known address is on the 1100 block of North Longwood Street in Baltimore, may have returned to his old Lakebrook Circle neighborhood, according to police.

Smith is described as an African-American male, approximately 5’6” tall, weighing 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He may have a mustache and a goatee.

Police said Smith may be frequenting the western areas of Baltimore County and City.

According to officials, on Aug. 3, 2008 police responded to a shooting at about 2 a.m. outside of a residence in the 2900 block of Lakebrook Circle. A 23-year-old man had been shot and was transported to St. Agnes Hospital by a friend, where he was treated and released, police said.

Police arrested Smith on Aug. 22, 2008, according to police.

Smith was tried and found guilty for the shooting and was sentenced to 10 years' suspended sentence with time served, and five years probation, police said. According to officials, Smith has violated his probation.
