Police Blotter: Rape Reported at UMBC

UMBC Student Reports Rape

A female UMBC student reported that she was watching movies at the residence of a male student in the Walker Avenue apartments on the night of Dec. 3 when she fell asleep and felt the male fondle her.

The victim said that she moved away from the male student and told him to stop, but the suspect continued and raped her. Charges have not yet been filed.

Burglaries in the Area

Nov. 28: At some time between Nov. 23-28, an unknown person entered a storage yard of a business on the 3900-block of Old Washington Boulevard in Halethorpe and took three ladders and several anchor bolts, for a total loss of about $2600.

Nov. 30: At some time between 6:15 a.m. and 1:50 p.m., a resident on the 300-block of Bigley Avenue in Riverview returned home to find that the rear door of his residence had been broken and several items were taken, including clothing, a DVD player, a wristwatch, a paycheck and a TV set.

Nov. 30: At some time between 1-4:20 p.m., an unknown person broke into a residence on the 2000-block of Alabama Avenue in Baltimore Highlands and stole a flat screen TV, medication and some jewelry.

Dec. 1: At around 10:30 p.m., an unknown person smashed the front door of a business on the 1700-block of Twin Springs Road in Lansdowne and took money from a desk drawer.

Dec. 1: At 2:30 p.m., a resident on the unit block of Babybird Court in Baltimore Highlands returned home to discover a sliding glass door broken and several ites taken, including a TV set, jewelry and cash.

Dec. 3: At around 3:06 p.m., a woman arrived home on the 900-block of Leeds Avenue in Arbutus to find two black males standing in the hallway of her residence. When the suspects saw the resident, they took off running, according to police. No property was taken.
