Police Blotter: Metals Targeted by Thieves

The following is based on information provided by Baltimore County Police Department.

May 28: Charges are pending against a man who threw a large piece of cement through the glass front door of a business on the 1800 block fo Sulphur Spring Road in Arbutus at around 11:10 p.m. Once inside the business, the suspect removed a $600 television from the wall. A witness observed the suspect and called 911. The suspect was identified by photograph.

May 30: At some time since 5:30 p.m. on May 25, an unknown person took about 360 feet of 1-inch thick copper wire from 60 industrial-sized batteries stored in an unlocked storage unit of a business on the 2200 block of Sulphur Spring Road in Arbutus.

June 1: At some time since 9:45 p.m. the previous evening, an unknown person climbed the fence to the lot of a business on the 1400 block of Benson Ave. in Violetville and took eight truck batteries from three trucks.

June 1: At some time since 10 p.m. the previous evening, an unknown suspect attempted to steal a battery from a delivery truck parked in the fenced lot of a business on the 4800 block of Benson Ave. in Arbutus.
