Police Blotter: Lansdowne Man Charged in Burglary

The following information is provided by Baltimore County Police Department.

March 27: At some time since 10 p.m. the previous evening, an unknown person removed a BMX bicycle from the front porch of an apartment on the 5100-block of Rolling Road in Relay.

March 28: A Lansdowne man was charged with fourth-degree burglary after being caught taking a catalytic converter from a vehicle on the lot of a business on the unit-block of Alco Place in Lansdowne. According to police, two men were involved in the incident, which occurred at 11:38 p.m. One man entered the lot and took the catalytic converter while the other stood watch. Both suspects fled when a security guard approached. Matthew Steven Shurman, 29, of the 2500-block of Gehb Ave., was apprehended and charged with burglary. Police said that a warrant will be issued for the second suspect, who has been identified.

March 31: At some time since 5 p.m. the previous evening, an unknown person entered the back yard of a residence on the 200-block of Fourth Avenue in Lansdowne. The suspect attempted to gain entry to a shed, but was unsuccessful and nothing was taken.

March 31: At some time since 5 p.m. the previous evening, an unknown person entered the backyard of a residence on the 200-block of Fourth Avenue in Lansdowne and removed seven six-foot aluminum scaffold planks valued at $100 each.

April 1: At some time since midnight of March 30, an unknown person entered the garage of a residence on the 100-block of Fourth Avenue in Lansdowne and took tools, a car jack and a bicycle.

April 1: At some time since 8 a.m. the previous day, an unknown suspect entered a house on the unit block of Hummingbird Ct. in Baltimore Highlands and took a laptop computer and video game system.

April 1: At some time since 4:30 p.m the previous day, and unknown suspect gained access to a vacant home on the 1800-block of Clarke Blvd. in Relay but there was nothing inside to steal. The suspects cut a lock on a work trailer and removed numerous power hand tools with a total value in excess of of $5,700.
