Police Blotter: Arrests Made in Burglaries

Police believe three arrested were involved in a series of burglaries.

Feb. 8: Ar around 10:47 p.m., police received a report from a woman whose home was being burglarized in the 4200-block of Maryland Place. Earlier in the day, the victim was at work in Baltimore City when her pocketbook was stolen, which contained her house keys and personal information. When the woman returned home after work, she saw that somebody was inside her house. By the time police responded, the suspect was gone from the house. Several items that had been stolen, including a laptop computer and large-screen television, were located nearby. Police officers found Don Robert McCrae, 21, of the 900-block of Ashbridge Drive, in the area. McCrae was questioned and admitted taking the keys and entering the victim's home. He has been charged with first degree burglary.

Feb. 9: At around 10:00 a.m., police received a call of a burglary in progress on the 300-block of Westowne Road. According to police, a witness saw three black males trying to break into a home. When police arrived on the scene, the three suspects fled on foot and were caught after a pursuit. James Edward Taylor, 19, of the 100-block of Overbrook was charged with first degree burglary, as were two juveniles who can't be identified because of their ages. According to police, the trio are believed responsible for several burglaries in the area.

Feb. 11: At around 2:11 p.m., Selma Liquors on the 4600-block of Washington Boulevard was robbed by two suspects who entered the store wielding guns and demanded money. One suspect was a white male wearing a mask and holding a handgun. The other was a black male and carried a shotgun. The clerk fled, and the suspects took payroll checks and lottery tickets.
