Catonsville man arrested for armed robbery near Wilkens Avenue Royal Farm store.

Man Arrested for Armed Robbery
A Catonsville man is charged with armed robbery following an July 18 altercation near the Royal Farm store on the 4000-block of Wilkens Avenue in Arbutus.

According to police, a 33-year-old man was near the Royal Farm when Bradley Brandon Baber, 20, approached him and brandished a silver handgun.  Baber forcefully took an iPod from the victim’s hands and fled southbound down Leeds Avenue, police said.

Baber, of the 800-block of South Beechfield, was arrested on Friday and charged with armed robbery, first degree assault, and theft under $1,000. He has been released on $40,000 bail, police said.

The case is still under investigation, and additional charges may be pending, police said

Wilkens Plaza M&T Bank Robbed
The M&T bank in the Wilkens Beltway Plaza on the 5600-block of Wilkens Avenue was robbed on July 19 by a man who implied he had a gun. At around 11:55 a.m., a man described as a male black about 5 feet tall, wearing grey sweats and a red and blue hood, passed a teller a note demanding money. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money, and he fled on foot.

Annapolis Road Restaurant Robbed at Gunpoint
At around 9:40 on July 21, four armed men robbed The Latin Connection restaurant on the 4200-block of Annapolis Road in Baltimore Highlands. The men entered the restaurant and demanded money, which was taken from a cash drawer before the suspects ran out the door and left in a white van headed towards Baltimore City. The suspects used two long guns and one handgun.

The suspects were described as all being 22 to 25 years old and about 6’ 1” tall. One was a male black weighing about 150 pounds, wearing black and white clothing. The second suspect was a male black weighing about 170- pounds, wearing black clothing and a red hat. The third suspect is a male black weighing about 150 pounds, wearing a yellow hat. The fourth suspect is a white male wearing a red mask.

Burglaries in the Area
July 22: At around 1:50 a.m., a resident returning home on the 5000-block of Oakland Road in Arbutus interrupted an unknown person who had shattered a side kitchen window. The suspect fled and entry was not made into the home.

July 22: Sometime between 8 p.m. on the evening of July 21 and 8 a.m. the following morning, an unknown person climbed a fence at Vehicles for Change on the 5000-block of Washington Boulevard in Halethorpe, stole two catalytic converters and a dealer tag, and fled in an unknown direction.

July 23: A man was charged with burglary after stealing 23 pair of shoes and sandals from trailers at a transportation company on the 5100-block of Washington Boulevard in Halethorpe. At around 10:30 p.m., Aaron Arthur Clark, 50, was found by police in the area after a burglary at Estes Transportation Services. After being stopped and interviewed, police determined that Clark had committed the burglary and arrested him. According to police, Clark cut metal bends to gain access to four trailers. The footloose footwear, which has a value of $719.77, was recovered by police.

July 24: An apartment on the 2000-block of Lakebrook Circle in Baltimore Highlands was burgled while the resident was on vacation, sometime since July 16. The resident’s front door was forced open and property including two TVs, a desktop computer, DVD player, and an assortment of clothing and household items were taken, with a total value of $6,990.
