Recent law enforcement activity in the greater Arbutus area

Apr. 22: Police received a report of a burglary and theft at Ruff Roofers in the 1400-block of Knecht Avenue in Arbutus. An unknown person entered a fenced area in the rear of the property and took about 80 feet of copper gutter worth about $2,000.

Apr. 24: At 6:30 p.m., police received a report of a burglary at Paul Davis Restoration on the 3700-block of Commerce Drive in Lansdowne. An unknown person smashed the rear office door glass and entered the business. Some offices were trashed and several electronic devices were taken, including a television set, computers and GPS worth a total of more than $3,000.

Apr. 24: Around 9 p.m., police received a report of a burglary on the 400-block of 5th Avenue in Lansdowne. The resident of an apartment left the premises at around 8:30 and returned at 8:50 to discover that several items had been taken, including televisions, laptop computer, Wii video game and a jewelry box. The residence had been entered by prying open a side door. All of the items were recovered behind the house next door.

Apr. 25: At around 6 p.m., police received a report of a burglary at a construction site on the 4000-block of Southwestern Boulevard in Halethorpe. Several pipe fittings valued at more than $1,000 were taken from an unsecured crate on the premises.

Apr. 26: Shortly after midnight, police received a report of a robbery on the 100-block of Winters Lane in Catonsville. A man who had been drinking at the American Legion was walking home when he was approached by four black males who started beating him. The victim fell to the ground, breaking his wrist and causing abrasions to his face and a bloody lip. The suspects took about $70 from the victim's pockets and fled.

Apr. 26: During spring break, an unknown person broke into a trailer classroom of Westchester Elementary School on the 2300-block of Old Frederick Road in Catonsville. The room was ransacked, a $500 violin was destroyed, and an $800 electronic keyboard was taken.
