Man Injured in Wilkens Avenue Scooter Crash
Incident happened shortly before 7 p.m. Monday.
One person was injured in a single-vehicle incident at Wilkens Avenue and Maiden Choice Lane shortly before 7 p.m. Monday, blocking the eastbound lanes of Wilkens at a busy intersection.
According to sources at Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department, a man driving a motor scooter on Wilkens lost control and struck the curb, resulting in minor injuries. It is unknown whether the victim was wearing a helmet.
Contrary to rumors spread among bystanders, the unidentified scooter driver was not the victim of a hit-and-run.

The incident was reported to AVFD at 6:52 p.m. Crews from AFVD transported the victim to a local hospital.
