Man Charged With Assault For Threatening With Gun

A 21-year-old man faces assualt and weapons charges after he reportedly pointed a handgun at two men in Arbutus on Sept. 17, according to police.

Steven Paul Neubauer, of the 2300 block of Harvest Farm Rd. in Sykesville, was arrested around 2 a.m. on Sept. 24, according to police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathleen Batton.

According to police, around 10 p.m. on the 17th, two male victims who both live on Linden Avenue, were confronted by Neubauer in the vicinity of Linden and Talbot Place.

Neubauer pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at them and said, "I'll kill you if you come back into my neighborhood," a police report said.

After assaulting the victims, the suspect fled the scene in his vehicle, according to police.

According to court records, Neubauer faces four charges of first-degree assault, two weapons charges and two charges of reckless endangerment related to the incident.

Court records also give an address on the 5700 block of Richardson Mews Square in Relay for Neubauer.

Batton said that Neubauer was released on $50,000 bail.

There is no indication that the incident is drug-related, according to Batton.
