Man Accused of Theft From Perry Hall Car

Police credit concerned area residents with a man's arrest early Thursday morning.

Police arrested a man early Thursday morning after residents of a Perry Hall neighborhood reported suspicious behavior, Baltimore County police said.

At about 1:44 a.m. on Jan. 17, in the 3900 block of Link Avenue, area residents called 911 after seeing a suspicious person. Police arrived and found a man looking into cars, according to Officer Mark Dorsey of the Parkville police precinct.

The man was unable to explain why he was in the area and police found several personal items, including multiple pairs of sunglasses, a camera and jewelry, in his backpack, Dorsey said.

Around that same time, a homeowner approached police to report that several items, matching the items in the man's backpack, were missing from a vehicle that had been parked in the homeowner's driveway, he said.

Police arrested and identified the man as 21-year-old Stephan Randolph Edwards of the unit block of Aven Way in Nottingham, Dorsey said.

Edwards was charged with fourth-degree burglary, rogue and vagabond and theft of less than $1,000, online court records show. He remained at the Baltimore County Detention Center into Thursday evening.

Dorsey praised residents for calling 911 and urged anyone who sees suspicious behavior to report it to police immediately.

O look another black male miles away from his own neighborhood...stealing... Now this story sounds so familiar on php. And I know I know, now I'm a racist pig blah blah. But honestly, isn't it embarrassing being an African American knowing that deep down inside you have people like this blood sucking Obamacarer with no job giving "ur people" a bad rap...instead of pulling the race card why don't you speak out to where it hits home. I catch someone stealing from me in my home I'm not waitin for police or askin them to freeze... glock 40 boom boom. Shoot first let the police ask questions later.

John Clarke, are you for real? You base this on skin color? I looked up criminals named "John" and did you know there are thousands of them. Guess we better ask all the Johns not to steal either.

He and his Parents need to move somewhere else when the lowlife thief gets out of jail !! We don't need our crooks living here in the area, It's bad enough they ship in from other areas. Doesn't this punk know your not suppose to "poop" in your own backyard ?

Really ? So its our fault if somebody takes something that's not theirs ? I guess women shouldn't walk any where "unescorted " either, or its her fault if something terrible happens to her ?...Come on quit blaming the victims, and put some teeth in the punishment part of the criminal system. If these guys see that their actions are going to have some very undesirable outcomes they could think twice before committing a crime. You might need to make examples of a few, then the rest will straighten up. ( some what )
