Police and prosecutors said Jackson, 18, was killed by multiple hatchet blows in a Riverview townhouse where Horton was living with his wife and another man.

The Jackson’s girlfriend reported him missing on October 14, 2011. Friends and
neighbors told police they saw Jackson walking into Horton’s residence. A search warrant revealed large amounts of blood spatter on the walls and ceiling of the living room where Horton lived. A bloody hatchet was found in the garbage. The blood was later confirmed to be Jackson’s, according to the statement.
