Horton Claims Innocence in Jackson Murder

Appeared for hearing on Jan. 10 for hatchet murder of Ryan Jackson.

Larry Horton was in court on Jan. 10 to schedule a trial for charges in the death of Ryan Wesley Jackson, whose mutilated body was dumped near an industrial section of Baltimore City last October.

According to police, 18-year-old Jackson was in a Riverview townhouse where Horton was living with his wife and another man.

On Dec. 18, additional charges were filed against Horton for fraud by identity theft, which his defense lawyer said is unrelated to the Jackson death.

At a Jan. 5 hearing, Horton told the judge that he is presently serving finishing an 18-month sentence at Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson.

According to court records, in 2009 Horton was sentenced to three years probation for second-degree assault and has a court date in February for violation of probation.

Defense lawyer Donald Wright said that Horton is pleading innocent to the murder charge. "He says that he didn't do it," Wright said.
