Halethorpe Brush Fire Spreads To About 5 Acres

Approximately 120 firefighters responded to the scene in South West Area Park.

A Halethorpe brush fire that spread to between four to five acres in size was extinguished Friday evening.

At 5:26 p.m., approximately 120 firefighters from Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Anne Arundel County and Howard County responded to the fire at South West Area Park, in the 3900 block of Park Drive, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

The fire spread to an industrial area that had trailers and other equipment, but firefighters brought the blaze under control at 6:48 p.m., before the equipment was destroyed.

No firefighter were reported injured, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.
