During the period Mar. 11-18, AVFD received 72 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

Mar. 11: At 1:59 p.m., an apartment fire with people trapped was reported on the 400-block of Sun Shine Place in Catonsville.. Crews from the Arbutus and Lansdowne volunteer stations and Westview career station responded and extinguished a stove top fire. No injuries were reported.

Mar. 13: At 4:16 p.m., a patient in labor was reported at UMBC. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one seriously ill person to a local hospital.

Mar. 14: At 11:20 a.m., a mulch fire was reported on Selma Avenue at Sulphur Spring Road in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded and extinguished the fire.

Mar. 17: a 2:08 a.m., an automobile fire was reported at Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department, 5200 Southwestern Boulevard. Crews from the AVFD responded to find an oil leak, but no fire.

Mar. 17: At 6:45 p.m., a sick subject was reported at UMBC. Crews from the Arbutus and English Consul volunteer stations and Catonsville career station responded. One person with non-life threatening injuries was taken to a local hospital.
