Fire-Rescue Log: Fire in Patapsco State Park

During the period Mar. 18-25, AVFD received 64 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

Mar. 19: At 9:02 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with injury was reported at the WalMart at 6205 Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville career station responded. One seriously injured person was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Mar. 20: At 2:21 a.m., a pole fire was reported on the 400-block of Gun Rd. in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded to find an electrical pole arcing, and controlled the hazard until BGE arrived.

Mar. 20: At 8:36 p.m., a dwelling fire was reported on the 1500-block of Langford Rd. in Westview. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville and Westview career stations responded and extinguished a stovetop fire.

 Mar. 23: at 8:41 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with rescue was reported on Wilkens Ave. at Kenwood Dr. in Catonsville. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations responded. One seriously injured person was rescued from the vehicle and taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Mar. 23: At 2:30 p.m., a woods fire was reported at the Glen Artney Area of Patapsco State Park, 6000 Glen Artney Rd., in Halethorpe. Crews from the Arbutus and Violetville volunteer stations and Catonsville career stations responded and extinguished the fire.
