Fire-Rescue Log: Crash at Wilkens and Maiden Choice

During the period June 17-24, AVFD received 77 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

June 17: At 11:27 a.m., an investigation was requested on the 5500 block of Ashbourne Road in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD andHalethorpe career station responded to find no carbon monoxide or other hazards in the dwelling.

June 18: At 7:08 p.m., an injured subject who was not alert was reported at UMBC. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one seriously injured person to a local hospital.

June 21: At 11:59 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with injury was reported at Maiden Choice Lane and Wilkens Avenue in Arbutus/ Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career station responded. One seriously injured person was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

June 22: At 12:37 a.m., an inhalation injury was reported on the 1500 block of Cantwell Road in Westview. Crews from the AVFD and Randallstown career station responded to find hazardous levels of carbon monoxide in the dwelling. One seriously injured person was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma/Hyperbaric Chamber.

June 23: At 10:37 a.m., an emergency pump detail was requested at UMBC. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations responded and removed 11 feet of water from a basement.
