FIre-Rescue Log: Crash and Rollover on I-195

During the period Feb. 12-19, AVFD received 53 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

Feb. 13: At 8:23 a.m., a building fire was reported on the 4000-block of Benson Avenue in Violetville. Crews from the Arbutus and Lansdowne volunteer stations and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations responded to find a fire that had been extinguished by the sprinkler system.

Feb. 14: At 8:42 p.m., an unconscious person was reported on the 1200-block of Greystone Road in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Westview career station responded. One seriously ill person was taken to a local hospital.

Feb. 15: At 9:33 p.m., a motor vehicle accident with injury was reported on Wilkens Avenue at I-695 in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded. One seriously injured person was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Feb. 18: At 12:46 a.m., a dwelling fire was reported on the 5700-block of Paradise Avenue in Howard County. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career station responded to assist Howard County units with extinguishing a house fire.

Feb. 18: At 1:47 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with rollover was reported on I-195 between Exits 3 and 4 in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville career station responded to find an overturned vehicle with no occupants.
