Fire-Rescue Log: Car Crash on Beltway

During the period Sept. 9-16, AVFD received 77 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

Sept. 10: At 7:48 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with entrapment was reported on the I-695 beltway inner loop between Southwestern Boulevard and Wilkens Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded to find no entrapment. One person with non-life-threatening injuries was taken to a local hospital.

Sept. 10: At 6:20 p.m., a motor vehicle accident with entrapment was reported at Leeds Avenue at Linden Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations responded to find no entrapment. One person with non-life-threatening injuries was taken to a local hospital.

Sept. 11: At 2:23 p.m., a dwelling fire was reported on the 1000 block of Howland Square in Arbutus. Crews from the Arbutus, English Consul and Lansdowne volunteer stations and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations responded. A kitchen fire was extinguished.

Sept. 11: At 10:06 p.m., an apartment fire was reported on the 4700 block of Westland Boulevard in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations responded to find a small oven fire that had self-extinguished.

Sept 12: At 11:44 a.m., a central gun shot wound was reported, in a vehicle on the rear parking lot at Catonsville High School, 421 Bloomsbury Avenue. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville career station responded. One seriously injured adult was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
