During the period May 6-May 13, AVFD received 70 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

May 6: At 11:10 a.m., an appliance fire was reported on the 5000 block of Leeds Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from AVFD responded to find an overheated dryer, but no fire.

May 6: At 12:47 a.m., an assault with injury was reported at Smith at Lorena avenues in Lansdowne. Crews from the AVFD responded. One person with non-life-threatening injuries was taken to a local hospital.

May 7: At 10:59 p.m., a dwelling fire was reported on the unit block of Randolph Springs Court in Westview. Crews from the AVFD andCatonsville, Westview and Woodlawn career stations responded and extinguished an attic fire. No injuries were reported.

May 8: At 11:47 p.m., an investigation of an unknown material was requested at UMBC. Crews from AVFD and the Brooklandville, Catonsville, and Westview stations responded to find a liquid nitrogen tank that was leaking. The spill was contained and the tank was moved outside. No injuries were reported.

May 11: At 11:17 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with rollover was reported on he 4800 block of Westland Blvd. in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded to find property damage only, no injuries were reported.
