Family Mourns Woman Whose Body Was Found in Oella

The body of Janell Earlita Balogun was found on Sunday along Frederick Road in Oella.

The teenage son of Janell Earlita Balogun, whose body was found on the side of Frederick Road in Oella Sunday and whose death was ruled a homicide, says his family has banded together in mourning.

Balogun, 33, had an address of the 2700 block of Rittenhouse Avenue in Baltimore at the time of her death, according to Baltimore County police.

A bicyclist saw the body on Sunday morning in a wooded area near Frederick Road and River Road. Police spokesperson Elise Armacost said that Balogun's body was found without an ID and was identified by fingerprints.

An autopsy performed Monday determined that the manner of death was homicide.

Armacost said that police do not have a suspect.

"It's extremely early in the investigation," she said.

Balogun's son, Jaleal, 14, said that his family, which includes cousins, aunts and uncles, has united in response to the killing.

"She's a nice person; she doesn't deserve this," Jaleal told Patch Tuesday afternoon. He had permission from an adult to talk to Patch.

Jaleal also commented on  posted on Monday. He said his mother grew up in Baltimore.

Jaleal said some of his favorite memories of her were going to area carnivals and the Maryland State Fair.
