Crash Closes Beltway Outer Loop
Collision with car and van sends multiple people to hospitals, closes the outer loop of the I-695 beltway.
A collision and rollover on the I-695 beltway resulted in multiple injuries and forced the closure of the outer loop, according to state police officials.
At around 2:51 p.m., a car and passenger van crashed on the beltway between Washington Boulevard and I-95, causing the van to roll over and trap several people inside, police said.
Two people have been transported to University of Maryland's Shock Trauma Center, and one person was taken to another hospital for treatment, according to police.
