City Taxi Driver Attacked, Robbed in Baltimore Highlands

Driver picked up fare at Power Plant, hit with car antenna while driving down B-W Parkway

A Baltimore City taxi driver was attacked and robbed by two pasengers while driving down Baltimore-Washington Parkway.

The incident happenened at around 2:43 a.m. on Dec. 10. According to poiice, a droiver for Downtown Cab picked up two passengers at Power Point Live in his 2004 Lincoln Town Car. The passengers asked to be taken to a destination in Odenton.

The driver stopped for fuel at a Citgo station on Russell Street prior to entering the B-W Parkway. During the fueling stop, one of the passengers exited the taxi and broke the antenna off the vehicle.

With both passenges back in the taxi, the driver continued onto the parkway. According to police, one of the passengers began striking the driver with the antenna as he drove.

When the driver pulled the taxi over to the shoulder, the passengers pulled him from the vehicle and began punching and kicking him. During the assault, the suspects took the driver's wallet, which contained about $150.

The vehicle continued to move without occupants, rolling across the southbound lanes of the parkway and striking the median barrier, causing about $1,000 of damage to the vehicle's left front corner.

The suspects fled on foot on a footpath leading from the Parkway to McDowell Lane in Baltimore Highlands.

The suspects are described as two white males about 18-25 years old.
