A Baltimore City police officer is in critical but stable condition after being shot multiple times in the upper body, reports WTOP.
Police say the shooting happened around 7 p.m. Friday in the 1900 block of Belair Road.
Deputy Police Commissioner Jerry Rodriguez said that the officer was off-duty and sitting in his parked truck when it happened. Rodriguez says the officer was, from all indications, a bystander.
The officer underwent surgery at a hospital. The suspect turned himself in on Sunday and said he was innocent.
