A man was arrested and charged with the Aug. 31 attempted burglary of an occupied home in Baltimore Highlands, according to police.
At around 8:41 a.m., a resident on the 3600 block of Annapolis Road was at home when he heard a noise coming from the outside of a side window, police said.
The resident caught Javier Antonio Zegarra, 19, attempting to break into his home and detained him until police arrived, according to police.
Zegarra, of the 3900 block of Annapolis Rd., was charged with attempted first-degree burglary and fourth-degree theft, police said. He was released from custody on Sept. 1 on $10,000 bail, according to officials.
According to court records, Zegarra was on probation for a drug possession charge. The period of unsupervised probation ended Sept. 6, court records show.
