Baltimore County Man Charged in Father's Murder

The 18-year-old is accused of shooting and killing his father during an argument, Baltimore County police said.

Dundalk man was shot to death by his son Thursday, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

Richard Anthony Washington, 52, and his son were arguing when the son shot him several times with a large-caliber firearm, police said.

Officials responded to the apartment where both the father and son lived—in the 2000 block of Paulette Road—at approximately 1:03 p.m. for a reported shooting, police said.

Washington was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Richard J. Washington, 18, was taken into custody and has been charged with first-degree murder. Police said he is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
