During the period Oct. 23-30, AVFD received 67 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

Oct. 24: At 12:05 p.m., a motor vehicle with injury was reported at Wilkens Avenue at I-695. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one person with non-life-threatening injuries to a local hospital.

Oct. 25: At 11:39 p.m., a fainting subject was reported on the 5500-block of Willys Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one critically ill person to a local hospital.

Oct. 25: At 7:39 p.m., a person trapped in an elevator was reported at UMBC. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career station responded and rescued the uninjured person.

Oct. 27: At 1:48 a.m., an apartment fire was reported on the 4300-block of Alan Drive in Arbutus. Crews from the Arbutus and Violetville volunteer stations and Halethorpe career station responded and extinguished a laundry room fire.
