Recent activity of Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department

During the period Nov. 27-Dec. 4, AVFD received 62 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

Nov. 27: At 10:46 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with injury was reported at Chuck E. Cheese at 5912 Baltimore National Pike in Westview. Crews from the AVFD and Westview career station responded. One person with non-life-threatening injuries was taken to a local hospital.

Nov. 27: At 2:55 p.m., a motor vehicle accident was reported at Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department at 5200 Southwestern Boulevard in Arbutus.  Crews from the AVFD responded to find property damage but no injuries.

Dec. 1: At 7 a.m., a fall subject was reported on the 700-block of Gun Road in Relay. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one seriously injured person to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Dec. 2: At 3:22 p.m., a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle was reported at Sulphur Spring Road at Carville Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one person with non-life-threatening injuries to a local hospital.

Dec. 2: At 5:27 p.m., a school fire was reported at Arbutus Elementary School at 1300 Sulphur Spring Road in Arbutus. Crews from the Arbutus, Lansdowne and Violetville volunteer stations and Halethorpe career station responded to find an overheated HVAC unit.
