Recent activity of Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department

During the period Nov. 20-27, AVFD received 64 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

Nov. 22: At 6:54 p.m., a motor vehicle accident was reported on Sulphur Spring Road at East Drive in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded to find property damage but no injuries.

Nov. 23: At 12:11 a.m., a chest pain patient was reported on the 1100-block of Raven Drive in Halethorpe. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one seriously ill person to a local hospital.

Nov. 23: At 9:59 a.m., a motor vehicle accident was reported on the 3600-block of Washington Boulevard in Halethorpe. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career stations responded to find property damage but no injuries.

Nov. 23: At 12:04 p.m., a motor vehicle accident with injury was reported on Wilkens Avenue at I_695 in Arbutus. Crews from the Arbutus and Woodlawn volunteer stations responded. One person with non-life-threatening injuries was taken to a local hospital.

Nov. 25: At 8:08 p.m., a motor vehicle accident with rescue was reported on the 6200-block of Lawyer’s Hill Road in Ellicott City. Crews from the Arbutus and Lansdowne volunteer stations and Halethorpe career station responded to assist Howard County units with extrication. Two seriously injured people were taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. One critically injured person was flown via Maryland State Police helicopter to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
