During the period Jan. 29-Feb. 5, AVFD received 53 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

Feb. 2: At 3:41 p.m., a dwelling fire was reported on the 5900-block of Queen Anne Street in Westview. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville, Westview and Woodlawn volunteer stations responded and extinguished a house fire.

Feb. 3: At 4:07 a.m., an unconscious person was reported on the 1300-block of Poplar Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded. One seriously ill person was transported to a local hospital.

Feb. 3: At 3:08 p.m., a motor vehicle accident with injury was reported on I-695 between I-70 and Security Boulevard in Westview. Crews from the AVFD and Westview career station responded. One person with non-life-threatening injuries was taken to a local hospital.

Feb. 4: At 8:16 p.m., an unconscious person was reported on the 300-block of Melvin Avenue in Catonsville. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville career station responded. One seriously ill person was transported to a local hospital.

Feb. 4: At 1:18 a.m., an apartment fire was reported on the 4300-block of Alan Drive in Arbutus. Crews from the Arbutus and Violetville volunteer stations and Catonsville, Halethorpe and Westview career stations responded. A dryer and trash can fire was extinguished.
