During the period Aug. 28-Sept. 4, AVFD received 86 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

Aug. 28: At 7:29 p.m., a fall injury was reported on the 5200 block of Arbutus Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one seriously injured person to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Aug. 30: At 4:45 p.m., an elevator rescue was reported at UMBC. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville career stations responded and rescued ten people from a stuck elevator.

Sept. 2: At 11:16 p.m., a water main break was reported at East Drive at Linden Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded and controlled the hazard until utility crews arrived.

Sept. 2: At 4:52 p.m., a dwelling fire was reported on the 1700 block of Rittenhouse Avenue in Halethorpe. Crews from the Arbutus, English Consul, Lansdowne and Violetville volunteer stations and Halethorpe and Catonsville career stations responded. A kitchen fire was extinguished.

Sept. 3: At 9:19 a.m., an unconscious person was reported on the 900 block of Regina Drive in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career station responded to find an expired subject.
