AVFD Fire-Rescue Log

Recent activity of Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department.

During the period Dec. 11-18, AVFD received 70 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

 Dec. 11: At 7:11 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with injury was reported on I-695 at Frederick Road in Catonsville. Crews from the Arbutus and English Consul volunteer stations and Catonsville, Halethorpe, Westview and Woodlawn career station responded. Two people with non-life-threatening injuries were taken to a local hospital. One seriously injured person was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Dec. 11: At 5:14 p.m., a motor vehicle accident with injury was reported on I-695 between Wilkens Avenue and Frederick Road in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville career station responded. One person with non-life-threatening injuries was taken to a local hospital.

Dec. 12: At 10:09 p.m., a dwelling fire was reported on the 4300-block of McDowell Lane in English Consul. Crews from the English Consul, Arbutus and Lansdowne volunteer stations and Halethorpe career station responded to find a malfunctioning furnace.

Dec. 17: At 4:09 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with rescue was reported on I-695 between Wilkens Avenue and Frederick Road in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations responded. One person was rescued from the vehicle.

Dec. 17: At 10:14 p.m., an apartment fire was reported on the 2900-block of Lakebrook Circle in Lansdowne. Crews from the Lansdowne, Arbutus, English Consul and Violetville volunteer stations and Catonsville, Halethorpe and Westview career stations responded. A stove top fire was extinguished.
