During the period Jan. 8-15, AVFD received 68 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

Jan. 11: At 11:14 a.m., an apartment fire was reported on the unit block of Walden Laurel Court in Westview. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville, Randallstown, Westview and Woodlawn career stations responded and extinguished the fire. 

Jan. 13: At 7:22 a.m., a fall injury was reported on the 1700-block of Park Grove Road in Catonsville. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville career stations responded. One seriously injured person was transported to a local hospital.

Jan. 13: At 9:11 a.m., a heart patient was reported on the 4500-block of Ridge Drive in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one seriously ill person to a local hospital.

Jan. 13: At 3:27 p.m., a sick person was reported on the 6300-block of Frederick Road in Catonsville. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one critically ill person to a local hospital.

Jan. 13: At 8:33 p.m., a carbon monoxide alarm was reported on the 4700-block of Gateway Terrace in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career station responded. A low level of carbon monoxide was discovered, and the scene was secured for BGE.
